Nice article by Dick Moore.

It is very easy to under estimate the amount of time that will be needed to prepare, 'shoot', edit, upload, test, share (advertise/market), manage feedback and monitor usage.

I like to use Camtasia to create short screencasts which are then uploaded to an internal video system for use by staff and students (we don't use YouTube). Microsoft Photo Story, Microsoft Movie Maker, Premier Elements, Audacity and a good set of headphones with a boom mike are all part of my tool kit.
